A Radiance that Does Not Dim
As the story goes, Moses descended the mountain after meeting with God and his face glowed so brightly that Israelites were afraid of him. He covered his face with a veil, and removed it each time he went up to meet with God.
Each time he came down again he covered his face, but only after the Israelites saw that he still had that radiance.
Paul taught that Moses covered his face so the Israelites couldn’t see when the radiance began to dim.
In this Conversation Starter Ray Waters talks about radiance that is rapidly fading from old, fear-based religion, and the shine that doesn’t fade when we drop the rules and focus on loving God, loving each other, and learning to love ourselves.
